The GA Girls Track Team had a strong 2026 season, finishing second in the Inter-Ac and third in the PAISAA Championships.

The team went undefeated in the regular season Inter-Ac dual meets and came in second at Inter-Ac champs, with 123 points and 13 top-three finishes.

At PAISAA, the team placed third with 68.5 points and six top-three finishes.

Top three finishes were achieved in both the Inter-Ac Champs and PAISAA by Piper Loney ’27 in the 100m, Ruby McKee ’29 in the triple jump, Jocelyn Germain ’28 in the long jump and Layla Gentile ’26 in the shot put.

Head Coach Steve Moll emphasized the team’s competitiveness throughout the season. “The girls are super competitive.” Coach Moll explained. “No matter if it’s a dual meet or a championship meet, they’re all trying to do their part.”

Assistant Coach Mike Caison also credited the team’s success to a mix of experienced athletes and runners who were new to the sport.

According to Coach Caison, the team’s success this year came from a mix of experienced runners and athletes who were new to the sport.

“They were willing to jump in wherever we needed them and be coachable,” Coach Caison said. “McKee is a great example of that. She took second place in the triple jump when she had never done it before.”

The relay teams were also key contributors to the season’s success. The 4×400 relay team of Emma Seckinger ‘27, Nieve Keitel ‘27, Piper Loney ‘27, and Jocelyn Germain ‘28 set a new school record during the season. The 4×800 relay team of Annabelle Steckel ‘28, Adriana Wenneker-Niggemeier ‘28, Alyssa Burke ‘27, and Izzy Munski ‘27 also consistently scored for GA, along with the 4×100 relay team of Loney ‘27, Germain ‘28, Seckinger ‘27, and Myree Jean-Brian ‘27.

“They are impactful not just in the relays, in their individual events,” Coach Moll said. “These girls are so versatile and are buying into a championship mentality.”

Athletes on the team also credited their own hard work ethic and physically demanding practices for the season’s success.

“We PR’d in a lot of events. Our 4×400 team got a new school record. All our hard work during practices and workouts pushed us to be better during meets. Our practices are hard, but they make us faster,” Jean-Brian said. “The team plans to stay in shape and come together whenever we can for a quick workout.”

The depth of the girls’ team this year has also played a major role throughout the season. GA consistently scored points across sprinting, distance, relays, hurdles, jumps, and throwing events, which has allowed them to compete with some of the best teams in the PAISAA and Inter Ac. The combination of both experienced and younger athletes taking on new roles has helped create one of the most successful seasons in recent years.
