GA club fair expands students’ horizons

Every year, GA holds a club fair for students to get to know clubs both old and new. The club fair is a great way to get everyone involved in the community and to meet new people.

“The club fair helps because it’s the best way to get in front of a ton of students at once and show them what Finance Club is all about,” Andrew Schwartz ‘26, Finance Club co-leader, said. “It gives us a chance to share our energy and spark interest right from the start of the year.”

Club leaders use the fair as a chance to promote their club and gain new members. This sets the tone for what to expect from all the clubs for the year.

“The club fair helps our club, Provide a Smile, by giving us a chance to share what our club does,” Elli Wang ‘26, Provide a Smile co-leader, said. “It lets us find people who want to contribute positively to our community.”

The club fair is also a great way for club leaders to meet potential club members. These leaders use different tactics in order to promote their clubs.

“We attract new members by informing [them] about our virtual stock market game, guest speakers, and global issues,” Schwartz said. “Students will get excited when they hear they’ll learn and apply concepts that school doesn’t normally teach, especially when there is a money prize for the top performers.”

“To attract new members, we create a welcoming space where everyone feels safe to talk, share smiles, and learn about mental health,” Wang said.

The club fair allows students who don’t lead a club to explore the opportunities available to them.

“I look forward to the club fair every year to see the new clubs that have been made,” Kat Kou ‘26 said. “I was able to find CSO through the club fair, and that has improved my GA experience so much.”

For many students, the club fair is a huge highlight of the beginning of the school year.
