After a fun but tough series of competitions between Germantown Academy and Penn Charter, Penn Charter kept the cup following six wins and four losses against GA. Despite the overall tough loss for GA, individual competitions were won by Field Hockey, Boys Water Polo, Girls Cross Country, and Golf.

GA Boys Cross Country fell to PC 19 – 37. The Germantown Academy Girls Cross Country team won over PC, 24-31. Senior Captain Abby Durkin and others had outstanding races.

While GA Girls Water Polo fell to PC 6 to 14, GA Boys Water Polo won the day by scoring 12 points to PC’s 9.

Our Boys Water Polo team had a great game against PC. Colin Minehan tied the score at 9-9 in the fourth quarter and then took the lead for GA by scoring two more points. Senior Captain Andrew Thompson scored the winning point for GA, ending the game with a score of 12-9. Senior Captain Nick O’Hara was named MVP.

GA Golf had a big win over PCS 6.5 to 1.5. Seniors Ajeet Bagga, Will Irons, and Carter Radomicki won their matches. GA/PC Day marked the end of the 2023-2024 regular season for GA Golf and the first winning point for GA in the 2023 GA/PC Competition Cup.

GA Girls and Boys Soccer played great games but did not prevail over PC. Our Girls Soccer played a close game, scoring two points against PC’s three points. Our Boys Soccer Team also had a close game with the final score of GA 0, PC 1.

Girls Tennis fell to PC with a score of 0 to PC’s 7.

The GA Field Hockey Team enjoyed a win in a close game of 2-1. The score was 0-0 up to halftime, Penn Charter scored in the third quarter, and then Senior Captain Hadley Harbert scored in the fourth quarter, tying the game and sending it into overtime. With 5 minutes left in the first overtime period, Senior Olivia Krey scored and won the game for Germantown Academy.

Penn Charter came away with a win in football, with GA scoring 14 to PC’s 35 points.
