With Ms. Vutz stepping down as the faculty advisor for the Edition next school year, the paper will have a new advisor, Dr. Adam Wilsman, for the 2023-24 school year.

This year, Dr. Wilsman has taught Advanced US History in addition to serving as the House Head of Osbourn. Dr. Wilsman truly enjoys being involved in the community, and he is thrilled to expand upon his existing roles at GA.

Dr. Wilsman has previous experience with running the newspaper at his former school, the Harpeth Hall School in Nashville, for eight years and attending several meetings and conferences.

“I ran the newspaper at my last school called Logos and I started off not really knowing anything about newspapers but ultimately got really good at running it and it was something I enjoyed a lot,” Dr. Wilsman said.

When asked about any initial changes he wanted to make to the Edition, Dr. Wilsman said, “I’ll be talking about making changes with the leader’s Grace Taylor, Angie Wang, Elaine Li, and Saloni Bhatia and I want to be able to keep in mind what they want.” He also mentions that he wants to publish twice as much, be “more robust in the training,” and have a boot camp before school starts for learning to write in a newspaper.

“I want it to be a big deal when it comes out, and I want people to be snatching it up when it’s published and everyone reading it,” he said. He also believes Germantown Academy can be one of the best newspapers in the state of Pennsylvania and hopes to achieve that.

Dr. Wilsman wants to make an impact on the Edition. “At my last school we were voted best newspaper in Tennessee every year besides one. Given the caliber of writers and thinkers and achievers at this school, there is no reason we can’t have similar success,” Wilsman said.

Dr. Wilsman looks to be able to make GA the best it can be. “I think that the Edition is a great part of our school and I want to further that tradition and see what I can do to make it even better.”
