A Look into the GA Community’s Spotify Wrapped

Ever wonder what music other people are listening to? We asked a variety of students to tell us what their Spotify Wrapped year-in-review summary looked like. 

Almost everyone interviewed stated that their final results made sense, although a few noted that some of their top songs surprised them. A common top genre was pop, and there were even a few soundtracks throughout the results.

Taylor Weiss ‘23: 

Top 5 artists? Ariana Grande, Onerepublic, Surfaces, AJR, Khalid

Top 5 songs? Sunday Best, Make You Mine, Floating, Honeypie, Paradise

How many minutes? 8,415

Top genre? Pop

Do your results make sense? “I guess so, only because [I] listen to whatever is on because [I] don’t have a preference”

Caitlin Lozano ‘24:

Top 5 Artists? KSI, Summer Walker, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Drake

Top 5 songs? Boys Ain’t Sh*t, Could’ve Been, I’ll Kill You, Vibe, BLEACH

How many minutes? 49,781 minutes

Top genre? Pop

Do your results make sense? “I was kinda surprised but it mostly makes sense”

Are you happy with your results? “Yes, the results do make sense”

Emma Merrill ‘24:

Top 5 Artists? Conan Gray, Harry Styles, Khalid, Julie and the Phantom Soundtrack, One Direction

Top 5 Songs? Maniac, 8TEEN, Younger, Unsaid Emily, Finally Free

Do your results make sense? “I mean I guess so, I’m a little surprised”

Zach Kotik ‘22:

Do your results make sense? Why or why not? “I’m really angry about my top song, because I don’t think I listen to it that often, but I’m happy with my artists.”

Gurbani Chawla ‘22:

Are you happy with your results/why are those your results “Yes, it shows exactly what I listen to because Taylor Swift is my favorite artist. I also like listening to different types of music.”

Dean Millard ‘21:

Are you happy with your results/why are those your results “For the most part, I am happy. The top songs weren’t necessarily what I was expecting, however, the artists were expected.” 

Sarah Fineman ‘21:

Do your results make sense? “My results make sense based on the limited time that I use Spotify.”

Are you happy with your results/why are those your results? “I listen to music most often when I workout at the track. However, I listen to music that I own during workouts because I don’t have unlimited WiFi. The music that I personally buy are mostly Spanish songs.”
