New Moon, by Stephanie Meyers, is the second book in the Twilight series. The plot follows the main character Bella Swan and her vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen until an incident convinces him to leave her, leaving Bella to destructive sadness.
I found myself struggling to get into the book because it had a very slow start. You have to persevere and get to the end of the story to read the most interesting scenes. What I like about the book is that the story is very dramatic and unrealistic, which makes it entertaining. It is hard to put it down because it is an easy and fast read with an entertaining story line. I wish the beginning of the book wasn’t such a slow start, but instead kept the reader’s attention with more dramatic scenes. I had also hoped the book wasn’t so predictable, but instead had some plot twists and cliff hangers. I would have liked to have read about more interesting characters with better character development. However, I still recommend this book if you like fast reads with dramatic plots, have an interest in vampires or werewolves, or just enjoy YA romantic fantasy.

Overall, I would give this book 3 out of 5 stars.
