Injuries plagued the Eagles this past season. After the exciting acquisition of DeSean Jackson, a former star player with the Eagles, he quickly got injured in Week 2 against the Falcons. From then on, injuries continued to be a recurring issue for the Eagles. Every single week of the 2019-2020 season, at least eight Eagles players were listed as “Out,” “Injured Reserve,” or “Physically Unable To Perform.”

However, the Eagles had a “next man up” mentality, playing as hard as possible. Unfortunately, before their Week 10 bye week, the Eagles were inconsistent. They struggled to win more than two games in a row. After their bye week, the Eagles didn’t look good. They lost their first three games, including a devastating loss to the Miami Dolphins. However, they finished the season strong, winning all four of their divisional games by at least six points. These victories were quite incredible. Players like Boston Scott and Miles Sanders emerged at the end of the season and helped propel the Eagles to victory. These wins at the end of the season helped the Eagles capture the NFC East title.

After an up-and-down season, the Eagles entered the playoffs. Eagles fans felt confident going into the first round of the playoffs, and many wondered if they could turn their season around. However, fans soon began to worry after hearing about the Eagles’ first-round opponent: the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks were having a great season; their quarterback Russel Wilson was having one of the best seasons of his career. Many Philly fans realized that it was going to be a difficult game. After Carson Wentz suffered a first-quarter head injury and had to exit the game, backup QB Josh McCown entered the game. The Eagles gave all they could give. They tried their best to match the talented Seahawks team but ultimately came up short.

The season was over. Sadness hit Philadelphia like a tidal wave. Still, even though this wasn’t the season the Eagles and their fans wanted, it was a memorable one. Young stars got the opportunity to grow and showcase their impressive skills. The Eagles showed great perseverance, fighting hard until elimination. Despite all of their injuries, the Eagles showed great resilience, transforming what at one time looked like a lost cause into an admirable berth in the playoffs.
